A Spectacular Start to 2025: RaceSense Powers World-Class Regattas

As we dive into 2025, the sailing calendar is already filled with excitement, and RaceSense will be in full deployment at some of the most competitive regattas around the globe. From Melbourne to Florida and beyond, January promises a month packed with thrilling moments, and intense racing.

Etchells Worlds: The Crown Jewel of January

At the heart of this month’s action is the Etchells Worlds, taking place from January 9 to January 14 at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club in Melbourne, Australia. A pinnacle event in competitive sailing, the Worlds bring together the best sailors in the Etchells class to compete for the World title. With RaceSense onboard, this regatta promises precise, fair, and thrilling racing in one of the most storied classes in the sport.

Preceding the Worlds, the Etchells Pre-Worlds will run from January 3 to January 5, giving competitors a critical opportunity to fine-tune their boats.

Florida: A Hotbed of Winter Sailing Action

While Melbourne hosts the Etchells, Florida remains the epicenter of winter sailing, hosting a variety of classes and events throughout January.

The Florida season opens with the Melges 15 Winter Series on January 4-5. Over 110 boats are expected, making this our largest RaceSense event ever!

The Sid Doren Memorial Regatta (January 10-12) at Biscayne Bay Yacht Club continues the rich legacy of the Etchells class in the United States. This event showcases the class’s tactical brilliance in one of the most iconic sailing locations in the world.

The M32 Winter Series #1 (January 10-12) in Miami marks the return of the fast-paced, high-performance multihulls. Known for its electrifying racing, the M32 class has embraced RaceSense in January 2023 to further enhance its competitive edge.

The VX/One Winter Series #2 (January 10-12) at Coconut Grove Sailing Club brings cutting-edge performance and a big, competitive, fleet to South Florida.

J/70: A Global Showcase

January is also a standout month for the J/70 class, which continues its impressive growth on the international stage.

The Davis Island Winter Series #2 (January 10-12) sees top competitors gathering at the Davis Island Yacht Club in Florida. 

Across the globe, the J/70 Australian Nationals (January 13-18) will bring together elite sailors to compete for the national title.

Diverse Classes, Unique Challenges

The diversity of classes on the calendar this January highlights the inclusivity and range of the sport:

The Levin/Schoonmaker Cup (January 17-19) will see the legendary Star class competing at Coral Reef Yacht Club, combining tradition and top-tier skill.

The Melges 14 Winter Series #2 (January 18-19) at the Melges Watersport Center continues to build momentum for this exciting class.

The A-Cat Midwinters (January 21-26) at Upper Keys Sailing Club promises a blend of speed, finesse, and innovation in one of the sport’s most technical fleets.

The Bacardi Winter Series #2 (January 23-26) features the J/70 and Melges 24 classes, culminating in world-class racing in Miami.

The M32 Winter Series #2 (January 31-February 2) returns to Miami for another round of adrenaline-filled competition.
