VX One Class to Implement Vakaros RaceSense at Winter Series
After a successful 2023 North American Championship Powered by RaceSense, the VX One Class is bringing RaceSense to its 2023-2024 Winter Series, hosted by the Coconut Grove Sailing Club in Miami, FL.
The first event begins this coming Saturday (11/18) and will see 17 teams clash on Biscayne Bay. Among them are North American Champions, seasoned professionals, weekend warriors, and every type of sailor between. The VX Class has thrived by offering a fast, fun platform with a competitive, but corinthian attitude.
RaceSense only adds to that, by enhancing the fairness and efficiency of racing and eliminating the need to ping, while implementing automatic OCS detection and notification. Teams will be equipped with state-of-the-art Atlas 2 instruments which will then automatically display Distance-to-Line, timer, and more.
Host Fleet Captain Tim Pitts shares that “The addition of RaceSense is another step in making our racing more fair and efficient: after the NAs, the sailors in our class demanded RaceSense, and we can’t wait to bring it to Miami."
Vakaros Events Director Doug Wake adds that "The VX Class has been with us through this entire journey, and after such a successful NAs this year with RaceSense, it made all the sense in the world to bring this tech to more regattas."
